Elliot Botvinick

Elliot Botvinick received his B.S., M.S., and Ph.D  degrees from the University of California, San Diego for bioengineering. He is currently an associate professor at UC Irvine for the departments of surgery, biomedical engineering, and material science engineering. In addition, Botvinick has appointments and laboratories at the Beckman Laser Institute and the Edwards Lifesciences Center for Advanced Cardiovascular Technology. His current research is focused on the relationship between mechanical stresses on cells and molecular signaling. Having been awarded Innovator of the Year in 2015 and as the founder of three start up companies, Elliot Botvinick is an amazing mentor and critical part of the Syroto team.
